9 Ways to Create your Best Day

Image
2021 is well underway and while we may have many goals and resolutions the only control we really have is what we do daily. As John Maxwell beautifully said, "You cannot change something in your life unless you change something you do daily." The secret of success in your life lies in your daily agenda. We have all heard the line “Live every day as if it is your last.” While I appreciate the exuberance of this statement somehow it doesn’t resonate with me because if it is my last day it would put a downer on my spirit. What I have come up with is a statement that works for me and it is  “Every day is the best day of your life. Give it your best shot.” This statement has worked well for me as it tells me that today is going to be my best day and if I want to have a best day I must give it my best shot. What this does is it shows me that I can make my day great. This also tells me that there are no bad days so even if something goes wrong I can take it in the right way. I als

7 Books to put on your Summer Reading List

I wanted to take the opportunity to share the books I liked reading this year across various topics like technology, business, success and leadership among others. Most of them are business books which is my preferred genre. Here are the books I liked reading in 2021. At the end of the article I share the books I liked right from 2015 till now. Hot Seat by Jeff Immelt  – This is an insider peek into what led to GE's downturn in his tenure. We shouldn't forget he took over GE from the legendary Jack Welch and the day after he took over the unfortunate 09/11 events took place. While history may be very harsh on him I feel we also need to give him credit for the time he led. He gives some solid leadership advice like leaders showing up, persevering in a crisis, solving problems, managing complexity, and doing systems thinking among others. It is worth a read. Think Again by Adam Grant  – I have read all of Adam Grant's books and this was an interesting addition to his accomp

Novak @ 20 The 5 Champion Qualities

Novak Djokovic has just won his 20th grand slam on Jul 11th 2021 by winning Wimbledon. Kudos to Berrettini for giving a fight and reaching the final. Djokovic has joined the other giants in Federer and Nadal joining the pantheon of all time greats. This is an amazing feat considering the quality of the opposition he had. People had written him off for the last few years. What makes him a true champion is how he has bounced back in-spite of his critics and as we all know he doesn't always have the crowd support that the other greats have had. Now he has put himself in pole position to overtake Federer and Nadal. Given the advantage he has with his age, fitness and longevity he has a good chance to make this his own. He made history by winning the 2016 French open and became the first person since Rod Laver to hold four grand slams at the same time. That was an amazing feat. Considering that super stars like Federer, Nadal, Sampras and Agassi have not been able to do that this is b

6 Keys to the Champion Mindset - Federer the Ultimate Champion

Roger Federer was upset by Hubert Hurkacz today in the Wimbledon 2021 Quarterfinals. He still made it to the second week of the championships at the ripe old age of 39. He continues to push the envelope and while many of his fans may be disappointed lets not forget what made Federer one of the greatest (the greatest according to most) in the first place. That's the aim of this article to dissect what made Federer great and how he continues to compete in-spite of the odds. I still want to recap Federer's achievements to put this loss in perspective. Roger Federer beat Marin Cilic in a five set thriller to win the Australian Open 2018 which was his 20th grand slam victory. This was nothing short of sensational especially considering that Federer was considered to be at the twilight of his career. Well the twilight is something only tennis pundits speak about whereas Federer is taking the game to new levels which is unfathomable. He is getting better with age in a game where the
