   Generative AI, a part of artificial intelligence that creates new content, is changing the software industry in big ways as we all have heard and continue to hear. The recent development is Llama 3.1 which is Meta's latest offering in the battle for AI dominance and it goes at a speed by the time this written something else will be the latest. The 405B parameter model beats rivals at math, coding and multilingual tasks as advertised by Meta. Video is now the next landmark of scaling where everyone's eyes are on. Right now all the major players are testing the video feature and we are entering the next frontier. Other recent developments include Claude Opus 4.5 achieving 80.9 percent on SWE-bench verified beating all competitors including human engineers. This marks a pivotal moment in the advent of AI. Here’s my 2025 list along with all my other favorite books from 2015 till 2024. The Happiness Files by Dr. Arthur Brooks Brooks blends science, philosophy, and practical advice to reframe happiness as something we actively design—not just hope for. Applying the mindset of a CEO, readers learn to balance love, growth, and resilience. I found this to be useful to understand that in the second half of life it is more about subtraction than addition. We should also learn to say no more often and spread ourselves too thin. Thinking of yourself as the CEO of your life increases your happiness as you have control over your decisions, actions and whatever results come your way accept it. Happiness is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. It is not something you arrive at. It is something that comes because of taking positive actions. So, it is better not to pursue happiness directly. Instead focus on doing high leverage activities and you will be happier. Here are my 9 G's of happiness. Gratitude : This is truly the first step to any type of happiness. Whenever you are feeling down take your journal and write down everything you are grateful for. This exercise will make you feel a lot more peaceful, and any temporary pain will reduce. Gratitude truly is the gateway to a happier life. Some people suggest writing down the things you are grateful for the first thing in morning. I have already written it down and review this in the morning. It sets your mind for a good day.
