10 Rules to Fuel your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy

How would you like to wake up every day with a fire in your belly? How do we get that attitude to always be energetic and then have that ability to energize others? There is one book which helps in this area and that is The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon. It is a simple book with a neat story. Here are the 10 Rules to Fuel your Life, Work and Team with positive energy with my take on each.
You are the driver – When you realize that you are 100% responsible for your life then you understand you are in total control. There is no one else responsible for your results except yourself. You are in front of the steering wheel of your life and you can drive wherever you want provided you know where you want to go.
Desire, Vision, and Focus – Desire is the fuel that ignites the flames of your potential; you need to have a vision for your life that is exciting and keep you energized throughout. Finally you need focus without which nothing can be achieved. There is a formula E+P = O which is there is an event which you cannot control but you can control the perception which can then get you the outcome you want. P can also stand for positive energy.
Fuel your ride with positive energy–What will keep you going inspite of setbacks is positive energy for your life. You need to take care of your health by exercising, sleeping well and having a balance diet. When you are filled with positive energy you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Invite people on your bus and share the vision – Success which doesn’t involve others will not leave you fulfilled. As Einstein said “Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to a divine purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: That we are here for the sake of other men —above all for those upon whose smile and well-being our own happiness depends, for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received and am still receiving.”
Don’t waste your energy on those who don’t get on the bus – If people don’t want to join you that’s fine. Not everyone has the same vision so don’t waste your energy on people who don’t share your vision.
No energy vampires on the bus – I like these two lines mentioned. Your positive energy and vision must be greater than everyone’s negativity. Your certainty must be greater than everyone’s doubt.
Enthusiasm attracts more passengers– No one wants to join a leader who is miserable. You attract like-minded people and if you are full of enthusiasm then other will join you. Wake up enthusiastic and the day does go better.
Love your passengers – Love is what keeps the team together. Make time for your team, listen to them, recognize them, serve them and bring out the best in them.
Drive with Purpose– Purpose is the key to having positive energy throughout the journey of life. Have a purpose worth living for.
Have fun and enjoy the ride – What is the point of life if we are not happy through the ride. Stay happy and understand that life is the game. We are all here for a finite time so make it count and get the most out of yourself and others. Enjoy this ride of a life time.
If you have a purpose, vision and follow-up with enthusiasm you will have the fire in the belly that will make the life journey wonderful.
